The Bible is central to the life of the disciple of Jesus. It is living and active. It leads us in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. It is the essential instruction manual for life. Prayer is another essential element for the life of the disciple. Throughout the Scriptures and in Jesus' own life, we see the centrality of prayer. In I Chronicles 4:10 we read the prayer of Jabez. Long before it was popularized by Bruce Wilkinson, God answered Jabez's prayer. We are challenging our church to pray like Jabez in 2011 for themselves and for FBC. We are also challenging our church to pray for a fresh filling and the leadership of the Holy Spirit in their personal lives and in the life of our church. Take the Pray like Jabez Challenge!
